Special Projects

In order to meeting the ever-changing needs of graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty and staff, UC Davis Graduate Studies is continually launching new projects to better serve the campus community. At any given time, a variety of initiatives are in progress.

Current Special Projects and Initiatives

Graduate Center

Plans are underway to renovate historic Walker Hall into a new Graduate Center at UC Davis. The new Graduate Center will consolidate graduate studies staff, faculty and student services that are currently dispersed in several locations around campus.  It will house the Graduate Student Association and provide a common space for graduate and professional students that will foster interaction, collaborative discourse and a sense of scholarly community.

Student Family Housing Redevelopment

Graduate Studies advocates for the needs and priorities of graduate students by participating in the Orchard Park Redevelopment Project Advisory Committee. Consultation and inclusion of graduate students is part of the project planning, consistent with the leadership-endorsed recommendations of the Student Family Housing Redevelopment Committee.

Master's Enrollment Incentive Program

Graduate Studies is offering graduate programs the option to participate in a master’s enrollment incentive that will provide a greater allocation through the graduate budget model. Building on our experience with the current model and the master’s pilot, this incentive will provide access to greater funding allocations for incremental increases in master’s enrollment.
