Amelia Brown is a Senior Academic Advisor responsible for advising graduate students on degree milestones, Graduate Council and campus policies, graduation requirements, mentorship issues, and admission requirements.  She serves a variety of programs across campus, including Engineering, Forensic Science, Textiles, and Clinical Research.

She has been at UC Davis since 2004.  Prior to her arrival at Graduate Studies, she worked in the School of Education and Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering in graduate student services.  Before UC Davis, Amelia was a Program Coordinator for the MPA program at the University of Washington, Seattle.  She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from CSU, Chico.

Holly Hatfield Rogai is a Senior Academic Advisor in Graduate Studies  responsible for advising graduate students on degree milestones, Graduate Council and campus policies, graduation requirements, mentorship issues, and admission requirements. She serves a variety of programs across campus, including Anthropology, the Arts, Child and Human Development, Communication, Community Development, Cultural Studies, English, French, Geography, German, History, International Agricultural Development, Linguistics, Music, Native American Studies, Performance Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish and the Study of Religion.

Holly brings over 15 years of experience in student services in a higher education setting, ranging from roles in the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, and was the Program Coordinator for the Graduate Group in Ecology prior to starting in Graduate Studies. Holly has an undergraduate degree in Women’s Studies and Communications from the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, MN, and a Master’s degree in Education (Higher Education Leadership) from California State University-Sacramento.

Elizabeth Sturdy is a Senior Academic Advisor responsible for advising graduate students on degree milestones, Graduate Council and campus policies, graduation requirements, mentorship issues, and admission requirements.  She serves a variety of programs across campus, including Chemistry, Education, Statistics, and Ecology.  She also serves on the Mentorship at Critical Transitions Committee, which serves to promote mentorship resources for UC Davis faculty.  Prior to her arrival at Graduate Studies, she worked as the Graduate Program Coordinator for the Graduate Group in Ecology and as an advisor at Undergraduate Admissions.  She continues to serve as an admission reviewer for Undergraduate Admissions each year.  Elizabeth earned her M.A. degree in English from CU Boulder and her B.A. in English from UC Davis.

Laura Young is the Senior Academic Advisor for graduate programs in the Medical & Biological Sciences.  She provides advice and guidance on university policies and procedures, degree milestones, admissions and graduation requirements, issues with mentorship, and academic success.  She has been at UC Davis since 2010 and prior to her current position, she served as the Graduate Program Coordinator for Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering.  Before UC Davis, Laura served as an advisor and graduation coordinator for undergraduates in the College of Sciences at the University of Central Florida.  She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UCF, specializing in Psychology and Communication.

Deanna Ljohki

Deanna Ljohki is a Student Services Advisor who provides general advising for our graduate student population, assists with inquiries from the graduate program faculty and staff and oversees prospective applicant inquiries. She joined Graduate Studies in 2010 after relocating from the Bay Area. Deanna is an Aggie alum having received a BS in Human Development in 1999.
