Studies emphasize the experimental and theoretical aspects of analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, physical, and theoretical chemistry. Graduate courses provide a foundation for original research, with introductions to specialized literature and advanced methodology. Sophisticated instruments and computers complement the familiar tools of chemical research in preparing, characterizing, and understanding interesting molecules. Research projects can include interdisciplinary work in areas where chemistry, biology, computation, mathematics, or physics have common goals.
