Admission Requirements

  • Three letters of recommendation
  • GRE scores (subject test in biology or biochemistry is helpful but not required)
  • Minimum 625 TOEFL score for international applicants.
  • Strong preference is given to doctoral applicants
  • Students interested in a master's degree should contact the graduate group chair prior to applying.

The microbiology group offers study in general microbiology, microbial ecology, microbial physiology, microbial genetics, molecular mechanisms of microbial regulation, molecular mechanisms of microbial pathogenesis, immunology, virology, and recombinant DNA technology.

While an M.S. degree may be obtained while pursuing a Ph.D. degree, only Ph.D. applications will be accepted.

This program is an interdisciplinary Graduate Group.
