Diversity Preview Days
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
As part of the national focus on diversifying the STEM fields, each fall UC Davis invites prospective underrepresented and socially economically disadvantaged students in science, technology, engineering, and math to attend the STEM Preview Days at the University of California, Davis to learn more about our graduate programs and graduate student services.
The Diversity Preview Days consists of faculty and current graduate student panels discussing tips for matching graduate programs to student interests, preparing personal statements, the application process, and an overview of graduate student life at UC Davis. Additionally, group lab tours and individual faculty meetings will provide you with an inside view of research opportunities available at the campus. Students from historically underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to participate.
Who Should Apply
Students are welcome to attend the Diversity Preview Days and funding is available to cover travel expenses.
Participants should be: A college junior, senior or master’s student considering graduate study at UC Davis; and applying to a Ph.D. program in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math fields for fall admission.
Also, MBRS/MARC, UC LEADS, Bridges to Doctorate, McNair, Project 1000, LSAMP/CAMP or RISE scholars are encouraged to participate.
Applications will be posted on this page in September for submission in the early fall. Students will be notified by e-mail with information on funding awards and travel arrangements.
