- 2024-2025 Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award
- The Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award (OGTA) recognizes the contributions of graduate students to teaching and learning at UC Davis. Any member of the campus community having direct experience with the student's teaching may nominate the student teacher. The award is limited to currently enrolled graduate students who have been employed on this campus as Teaching Assistants and/or Associate In's during an eligible quarter. - UC Davis Library Graduate Student Prize
The UC Davis Library is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Library Graduate Student Prize. Graduate students, professional students and postdoctoral scholars can win up to $1,000 for their research using library resources. - Student Parent Childcare Grant Program
- Student Parent Childcare Grant Program applications are available for the 2024-25 academic year. The Graduate Student Child Care Grant (GSCCG) Program provides $1400 per quarter/$2100 per semester, beginning Fall 2024, to full-time graduate and professional students with children up to age 12, regardless of financial need. The program is designed to offset actual costs incurred in childcare services. The GSCCG can be supplemented with additional funds from the Community Based Care Grant (CBCG) program for those students who demonstrate both financial and situational need.

The Public Scholars for the Future program was established to support doctoral students who are interested in developing their community engaged research with non-university partners. The aim of the program is to integrate community-centered theories, methods and techniques into the research and scholarship practices of the next generation of public scholars.
Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded $1,000 for research support.

- LAUNCH Postdoctoral Training Program
- The LAUNCH (Leaners to Leaders in Urology, Nephrology, and non-Cancer Hematology) Training Program is looking for applicants for its open postdoctoral training slots for one year of support to start before June 30, 2025. Any postdoctoral fellow or trainee who wishes to undergo research training in the basic, clinical or translational sciences within non-malignant urology, nephrology and hematology is encouraged to apply.
Applications can be submitted on a rolling bases. Application reviews will be conducted two weeks after the full application materials are received, with applicants who are selected to move on then completing an interview.
To be eligible, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; be affiliated with UC Davis, USCF, UC Berkeley or Stanford University; have an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or D.V.M.; commit to academic careers in research; have a primary mentor who has a track record of success in research in nephrology, urology, or hematology; have not already received more than two years of T32/F32 or TL1 funding; and conduct research within the mission areas. - Charles S. Longcope Jr. Writers and Artists Grant
- The Gay & Lesbian Review/WORLDWIDE (The G&LR) — a bimonthly magazine of history, culture, and politics focusing on LGBTQ+ issues that publishes non-fiction and poetry, as well as reviews of books, movies, and plays — announces its 3rd annual Charles S. Longcope Jr. Writers and Artists Grant for graduate students across disciplines and fields that make a contribution to LGBTQ+ scholarship or the arts.
The purpose of this gift is to bring new and diverse ideas and voices to the magazine and to encourage and support emerging and unpublished LGBTQ+ writers, thinkers, scholars, and artists. Recipients will receive funding (up to $7,500) to write an article for the magazine and to begin, complete, or advance LGBTQ+ related writing and other creative projects such as a research paper or thesis, a book, a podcast, a video, a script, a novel, a multimedia creation, or an art installation.

- The Switzer Foundation seeks top graduate students at schools in the six New England states and California who demonstrate outstanding leadership potential and who are committed to a career in environmental improvement.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, asylees or refugees as defined by the United States Department of Homeland Security, or residents by virtue of the Dream Act of 2021. International students are not eligible. Students of color, first-generation college or graduate students, and students from groups traditionally underrepresented in environmental graduate programs are strongly encouraged to apply.

- The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Gilliam Fellows Program supports biomedical and life science Ph.D. students and thesis advisors who, together, are committed to advancing equity and inclusion in science. Each student-advisor pair receives an annual award of $53,000 for up to three years.
HHMI invites applications from all eligible 2nd and 3rd year biomedical and life science Ph.D. students and their advisors (see program announcement for eligibility details). Students receive a stipend for their thesis research, leadership training and access to a diverse community of Fellows. Advisors participate in a year-long professional development course that focuses on strengthening mentorship skills to support people of all backgrounds. The application deadline is December 5, 2024.

- The AHA Predoctoral Fellowship is designed to enhance the integrated research and clinical training of promising students who are matriculated in pre-doctoral or clinical health professional degree training programs and who intend careers as scientists, physician-scientists or other clinician-scientists, or related careers aimed at improving global cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and brain health. - The AHA Postdoctoral Fellowship is designed to enhance the training of postdoctoral applicants who are not yet independent. The applicant must be embedded in an appropriate investigative group with the mentorship, support, and relevant scientific guidance of a research mentor. Recognizing the unique challenges that clinicians, in particular, experience in balancing research and clinical activity, this award mechanism aims to be as flexible as possible to enable applicants to develop academic careers in research alongside fulfilling clinical service commitments. - The Predoctoral Fellowships Program Area Priority help develop new scientists and professionals to enter research, education, and/or extension fields within the food and agricultural sciences within the private sector, government, or academia. The aim of these fellowships is to cultivate future leaders who can solve emerging agricultural challenges of the 21st century. NIFA is particularly interested in supporting fellows that address (1) sustainable agricultural intensification; (2) agricultural climate adaptation; (3) food and nutrition translation; (4) value-added innovation; and (5) agricultural science policy leadership.

- Opens: August 1, 2024. Dissertation Fellowship of $25,000. The purpose of the American Dissertation Fellowship is to offset a scholar’s living expenses while they complete their dissertation. Fellows must use the award for the final year of writing the dissertation. Applicants must have completed all course work, passed all preliminary examinations, and received approval for their research proposals or plans by the preceding November. Students holding fellowships for writing a dissertation in the year prior to the AAUW fellowships year are not eligible. Open to applicants in all fields of study. Scholars engaged in science, technology, engineering, and math fields or those researching gender issues are especially encouraged to apply.

- International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported.
Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree by the application deadline, and they must have applied to their proposed institutions of study by the time of the application. Up to five International Master’s/First Professional Degree Fellowships are renewable for a second year. Fellows will receive application information for this competitive program. Recipients are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls. Recipients return to their home countries to become leaders in business, government, academia, community activism, the arts or scientific fields.
