Application Deadlines

The 2027-28 Graduate Admissions Application will be open for submission in mid to late September 2026. 

Deadline Types

• Priority Deadline will receive priority review for admission. If the program has a priority deadline listed, you must apply by this deadline to be considered for internal fellowships.
• General Deadline will be reviewed by the graduate program but not on a priority basis.
• Space Available Deadline will only be reviewed if the graduate program determines that they have additional space available after reviewing priority and general deadline applications.

Prospective Student Fellowship Deadlines

Graduate Studies administers approximately $6.6 million dollars in internal fellowships annually. The only way to be considered for these fellowships is to apply by your program's priority deadline. 

Letters of recommendation may be submitted after the application deadlines, but program review timelines vary. Contact the program's Graduate Coordinator or visit the program's website for information on their timeline.

Applications close at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) on the day of the deadline.

GRE Test Requirements

For 2027-28 admissions, the GRE is not required or accepted by the majority of our graduate programs. International students may be required to complete English language proficiency testing. View the international students page for more details.
